The Economist is like the Wall Street Journal: fine for &quot;news&quot;, but only with serious filtering of their bias. Read BusinessWeek or NewsWeek, Foreign Affairs, Harvard International Review or Harper&#039;s. Get the Guardian Weekly, if you insist on having something weekly on hand. 

They&#039;ll all have similar editorial slants, but none (to my mind) so bad as the Economist, when it decides to tell us all what it thinks about something. I don&#039;t care how popular it was on Robben Island, I honestly hold that the Economist - as a publication of record - is crap.</description>
